Allen “Poppa” Peter Robichaux Sr., 60, a native of Terrebonne Parish, LA. and resident of Chauvin, LA., died at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2007.


Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chauvin. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Rita Lirette Robichaux of Chauvin; three sons, Allen “Pete” Robichaux and wife, Mary, Tate Robichaux and wife, Tina, and Clay Robichaux; two daughters, Monique Robert and husband, Shawn, and Karen McCoy and husband, Michael; two brothers, Rudolph Robichaux and Ernest Bourg; one sister, Meryl Thibodeaux; and 13 grandchildren, Samuel Robert, Hannah Robert, Rebekah Robert, Sydne McCoy, Allen Michael McCoy, Amber Robichaux, Abbey Robichaux, Carmen Robichaux, Justin B. Robichaux, Hunter Robichaux, Hayden Robichaux, Sarah Robichaux and Veronica Robichaux.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph Robichaux Sr. and Hazel Marie Thibodeaux Robichaux.

He was a self-employed diesel machanic and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

From his grandchildren: “He was the bestest Poppa in the world.”

Chauvin Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
