Allie Josephine Trahan Portier, 88, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Chauvin, died at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007.


Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chauvin. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by one son, Donald J. Portier and wife, Monica, of Bourg; two daughters, Marlene P. Pinell and husband, Ernie, of Montegut, and Geraldine P. LeBoeuf and husband, Larry, of Chauvin; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Trasimond Portier; her parents, Alexander Trahan and Ozelia Pontiff Trahan; six brothers, Wallace, George, Anatole, Wilson, Avison and Lawrence Trahan; and four sisters, Annie T. Sevin, Odelia T. Toups, Mary T. Price and Amy T. Price.

She was a homemaker, a member of Chauvin Senior Citizens Club and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
