Alma Blanchard Miguez, 86, a native of Pierre Part, La., and resident of Franklin, La., died at 11:40 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011.


Mrs. Miguez was a devoted wife and mom and worked side-by-side with her husband Ory in their photography business for 58 years. She was well known as a talented artist and many clients proudly display the beautiful portraits she created. She was a member of the Church of Assumption, Ladies Altar Society and the Perpetual Adoration Chapel.


She is survived by her daughter, Linda (William) Hardcastle; son, Kenny (Kay) Miguez; sister, Lucille Gaudet; two grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ory Miguez; an infant son; parents, Jules Sr. and Myrthe Blanchard; brothers, Abel, Claude and Jules Jr. Blanchard; and sisters, Agatha Hernandez, Nilda and Mattie Vaughan, Hattie LeBlanc, Delta and Rita Daigle, Loretta Sedatol and Winnie Leonard.

Burial was at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baldwin, La. (Ibert’s)
