Alvin J. Oubre, 54, a native of Vacherie, La. and resident of Labadieville, La. died Saturday, October 6, 2007, at 5:00 a.m.


He is survived by his wife, Connie Clause Oubre; his mother, Janet Reulet Oubre; one son, Bryan Oubre and his wife Crystal; two daughters, Kimberly Simoneaux and her husband Corey and Angie Oubre; one brother, Danny Oubre and his wife Loretta; and two sisters, Morcia Stogni and Pam Thibodaux; and two pets, Bella and Maggie.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Oubre; and one sister, Rebecca Oubre.


Alvin was loving husband for 31 years to his wife Connie. He was a devout Catholic, a member of the Labadieville Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the National Guard Armored Services. He was also a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion.

Visitation is Monday, October 8, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Landry’s Funeral Home in Labadieville and Tuesday, October 9, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Labadieville. He will be buried in the church cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
