Alvin “Pop” Sanchez Sr., 75, a native of Brule St. Martin and resident of Labadieville, La., died Friday, July 8, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Alterine Sanchez; children, Alvin Jr. and Linda Sanchez, Brenda (Derrin) Clements, Sandra (Ronald) Thibodaux and Donna (Percy) Price; brothers, Gleason Sr. and Valcour Sanchez Jr.; sisters, Francis Blanchard, Lucy Naquin and Mary Toups; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Valcourt Sr. and Rosanna Sanchez; son, Ricky Sanchez Sr.; brother, Theogene Sanchez; and sisters, Mabel Clement and Marie Sanchez.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Labadieville with mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Landry’s)
