Amelia Munson Langguth, 80, a native of Munson, La., and resident of Napoleonville, La., died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011.


Mrs. Langguth was born and raised on her family’s sugarcane plantation, Glenwood Plantation. She was the first homecoming queen of Napoleonville High in 1948 and attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, La.


She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Langguth; daughters, Cynthia Langguth and Amelia Von Heidecker; sister, Joan Frederickson; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Gertrude Munson; brother, Edward Munson; and sister, Gertrude Hill.

Religious services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Christ Episcopal Church in Napoleonville with burial to follow at the church cemetery. (Landry’s)
