Amos “Twenty Nine” Foster, 69, a native and resident of White Castle, La., died Thursday, August 2, 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Amelia White Foster; five sons, Edward Foster, Brian Foster and his wife Amy, Emerson Foster and his wife Kim, David Foster and his wife Ashael, and Jammie Foster; five daughters, Betty Foster, Dorothy Williams and her husband Brian, Patricia Cox, Laurel Boone and her husband Richard, and Rose Foster; four brothers, Herbert Sr., L.C., Andy Sr., and Raymond Foster; one sister, Dorothy Mae Scott; 30 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Amelia Foster; one son, Amos Foster Jr.; three brothers, Fredrick, Joseph and Roy Foster; and one son-in-law, James Cox.

Visitation is Tuesday, August 7, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Donaldsonville, La., and Wednesday, August 8, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in White Castle. He will be buried in the church cemetery.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
