Amy Tulette Bilbray Carrier, 96, a native of Alexandria, La., and longtime resident of Houma, La., died Monday, March 21, 2011.


For more than 50 years Mrs. Carrier was a teacher in Terrebonne Parish, first at Bourg Elementary School and then Mulberry Elementary. She was a volunteer at Terrebonne Medical Center and also a volunteer at the Southdown Plantation Museum.


She is survived by her son, William “Bill” (Dolly) Carrier; daughter, Bobbie (Roger) Aucoin; four grandchildren, Anthony “Tony” (Peggy) Aucoin, Renee’ Reynier, Carolyn Harris and Leigh Carrier; one stepgrandson, Bradley Ledet; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Matthew Carrier; parents, Nathan and Irene Bilbray; two brothers, Elmer and Robert Bilbray; one grandson, William Carrier II; and one great-grandson, Kenneth Harris Jr.

Amy Carrier
