Andre’ Floyd “Bosco” Becnel Sr., 83, a native and resident of Vacherie, La., died Sunday, August 10.


He is survived by his wife, Anne Earline Falgoust Becnel; four sons, James Becnel and wife Janet Hebert Becnel, Floyd Becnel Jr. and wife Donna Thibodaux Becnel, Edward Becnel and wife Lorili Rose Becnel, and Curtis Becnel and wife Vanessa Matherne Becnel; two daughters, Jackie Becnel and fiance Lynn Granier, and Rose B. Schexnayder and husband Timothy; four sisters, Jeanne B. Gregoire of Garyville, Rosemary B. Gravois of Hester, Mariette B. Becnel of Vacherie, La., and Virgie B. Folse of Vacherie; 13 grandchildren, Christie B. Granier and husband Thomas, Cathy B. Duplantis and husband Andrew, Leanna B. Bergeron and husband Beau of Fort Meade, Md., Joshua Becnel and wife Ashley Perque Becnel, Claudia Becnel and fiance Jared Martin of Chackbay, La., Michelle Becnel and fiance Brent Faucheaux, Eric, Annie, Brennon, Jonathan and Ellie Becnel, Jeri Annie Schexnayder and Jordan Ockmond; and seven great-grandchildren, Alexis Steib, Brayden Granier, Andre Duplantis, Christian Martin, Grace Bergeron, Colt Bergeron and Callie Becnel.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Edward Becnel and Corestile Stein Becnel; two brothers, Elmo J. Becnel and infant John Edward Becnel; and his stepmother, Adele Stein Becnel.

He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the VFW Post No. 4245 of

Vacherie. He was a retired welder, fitter and mechanic.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie with mass to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
