Andrew Calise Freeman, 91, a native and resident of Berwick, La., died Tuesday, April 2, 2013.


Mr. Freeman had a gentle heart and gentle hands. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired boat captain. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting and even gardening. He loved to cook and could make anything and everything. He always made sure his family joined him for those delicious meals.


He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Zella Freeman; daughters, R. Linda Bryan and Mercedes (Ed) Voisin; six grandchildren; one step-grandchild; nine great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Freeman; parents, George and Celistine Freeman; sisters, Hester Angeron, Helen Fremin, Elise Hebert and Cora Rogers; and brother, Jarold Freeman.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 5, at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City, La., with services to follow. Interment will be at Berwick Mausoleum. (Hargrave)
