Anita Myers Edwards, 87, a native of New Orleans, and former, longtime resident of Houma, La., and resident of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., died Saturday, April 30, 2011.

A native of Louisiana, Mrs. Edwards was born in New Orleans, but spent most of her life in Houma, teaching piano and organ with her husband. She was also very active in St. Bernadette Catholic Church in the music ministry and the Catholic Daughters.


She is survived by her sister, Lucille Donnar; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Josephine Myers; husband, Gerard Edwards; sister, Bernice McAdams; and brothers, Harold and Charles Myers II.

Her family would like to give special praise to Eleanor Cooper and the staff of Emerald Coast Center for their tender loving care.
