Ann “BaBa” Anastasio Oncale, 86, a native of White Castle, La., a longtime, former resident of Chalmette, La., and current resident of Napoleonville, La., died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.


She is survived by her children, Susan Van Matre, and Helt Jr. (Renata) and Patrick Oncale; three grandchildren, Stacey Boudoin, and Christina and Carla Oncale; one great-grandchild, Devon Watson; and many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Santo “Charles” Anastasio and Rosina Domino; one daughter, Ann Oncale; two sisters, Rosa Anastasio and Mary Falgout; and six brothers, Joseph, Vincent, Charles, Tiena, Sam and Anthony “Tony” Anastasio.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the CNA’s, Nurses and Staff of Heritage Manor of Napoleonville and Cardinal Hospice. A special thanks to Paulette Nelson who was a friend to not only Mom, but the family for the last two years.


She is buried at White Castle Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Stacey Boudoin, Devon Watson, Helt J. Oncale Jr., Patrick Gerard Oncale, Errol Rizzuto and David S.
