Anthony C. Rock Sr., 92, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, La., died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at 12:30 p.m.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Daigle Rock; sons, Anthony Jr. and Michael Rock; daughter, Louella Smith; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marie Rock Sr.; daughter, Gail Ann (David) Trippe; eight brothers; and three sisters.


Mr. Rock was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II. He was a 34-year employee of Mobil Oil and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Donations to the American Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 13, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Monday, Dec. 14, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at Twin City Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He will be buried at the Morgan City Mausoleum. The East St. Mary Veterans’ Funeral Squad will provide full military honors.
