Emma Hutchinson Huddlestun
July 11, 2011Antoinette “Tee Tante” Marie Theriot, 94, a native of Theriot, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 5:10 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011.

After graduating from Terrebonne High School in 1934, she attended S.L.I. (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. She taught in Terrebonne Parish public schools before entering the Marianites of Holy Cross. She continued to teach and was appointed one of the first elementary school supervisors in the Diocese of Lafayette. After 24 years in the religious order, she returned to teach in the Terrebonne Parish Public School system and then Saint Francis de Sales Elementary. She enjoyed working in her yard, sewing, and volunteering to help others and her church. She was a parishioner of Saint Bernadette Catholic Church.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Euclid Sr. and Delcia Theriot; brothers, Clama, Clarence, Mitchel, Anthony and Euclid Jr.; and sister, Anne (Kirby) Bergeron.
Burial was at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. (Chauvin)
