Antoinette Helena Fesi Mullin, 88, a native and resident of Houma, LA., died at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2007.


Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Prayer service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

A memorial Mass in her memory will be celebrated by the Priest of the Sacred Heart at a future date.


She is survived by one daughter, Kayla J. Rhodes and husband, John, of Houma; two sons, Frederick W. Mullin III and wife, Cynthia, of Dickenson, Texas, and Jerry D. Mullin and wife, Judy, of Mt. Ida, Ark.; two grandsons, William Mullin and Christopher Rhodes; and her caregiver for the last nine years, Sherri Young.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick W. Mullin Jr. one daughter, Jean Ellen; her parents, Carmelo and Congetta Scurto Fesi; three brothers, Joseph, Frank, and Salvador Fesi; and 10 sisters, Mary, Rose, Josephine, Marie, Rosalie, Jennie and Marguerite Vicknair, Ellen Cecile, Anne Robertson and twin sister, Ellen Johnson.

She was an elementary school teacher in Terrebonne Parish for 27 years, having taught at Grand Caillou Elementary, Houma Elementary, Southdown Elementary and Lisa Park Elementary Schools. She was a member of the Terrebonne Retired Teachers Association.

In her final active years before her long illness, she was a volunteer at Terrebonne General Medical Center Gift Shop where she was known as Miss Nettie. She was a member of the St. Joseph Italian Society and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Parish in Houma.
