Antoinette “Toni” Elphage, 40, a native or New Orleans, La., and a resident of Houston, Tx., following Hurricane Katrina, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston.

She is survived by her mother, Clara Richardson; sons, Ernest, Jerome and Jeremy Elphage; daughter, Chiquitta Edphage; devoted companion, Rayland Berry; two brothers; two step-brothers; five step-sisters; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Elphage; maternal grandparents, Welman and Blanch Frank; and paternal grandparents, Margaret and Joseph Elphage Sr.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Williams & Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville, La., and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at First Israel Baptist Church in Belle Rose, La. A religious service conducted by Rev. Irving Brown will follow. She will be buried at the church cemetery.

Williams & Southall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
