Gov.’s wife joins effort to build Gray Habitat home

Audrey Richoux Hebert, 72, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Raceland, La., died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010.


Mrs. Hebert was a former parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church and a member of Holy Savior Catholic Church. She was a member and former president of the Houma Lions Club and a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award.

Mrs. Hebert volunteered at Maison de’Ville Nursing Home.


She held a bachelor’s degree in physical education and history, and a master’s degree in administration from Nicholls State University. She taught at Terrebonne High for 30 years, and served as the Tigerette sponsor.

She is survived by her sister, Terry (Michael) Coupel; and a host of other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Terrebonne High School and the Houma Lions Club in her name are appreciated.

She is buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
