Azora Marie Portier Bergeron, 83, a native of Terrebonne Parish, LA. and resident of Houma, LA., died at 12:12 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007.


Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Annunziata Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.


She is survived by three sons, Edward Luke Bergeron of Houma, Raymond Bergeron and wife, Shirley, of Gray, LA., and Daniel Paul Bergeron and wife, Danette, of Houma; one brother, Jimmy Portier of Galliano, LA.; three sisters, Aldoris Portier, Odile P. Pellerin of Houma, and Laura Mae Portier of Zachary, LA.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Joseph Bergeron; her parents, Edward Portier and Mary Henry Portier; two brothers, Johnny Portier and Harold Portier; and one sister, Anna P. Carrere.

She was a retired bus driver for the Terrebonne Association for Retarded Citizens for 22 years.

She was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
