May 11, 2007Luncheon to recognize area’s foster parents; More adults needed to provide homes to youths

Beatrice Elnora Patrick Robertson, 84, a native and resident of Gibson, La., died Saturday, May 5, 2007.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Gibson. A religious service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is survived by five daughters, Joyce Robinson, Roselyn Williams, Jonette Johnson and Deirdre Short of Gibson and Melinda Robinson of Houma, La.; four sons, Irvin Robertson Jr., Roger Robertson and Bailey Robertson of Gibson and Raymond Robertson Sr. of Houma; one brother, Irvin Johnson Sr. of Houma; two sisters, Bernadine Stewart and Olivia Washington of Gibson; 27 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Robertson Sr.; her parents, Selina and Sidney Patrick Sr.; one daughter, Selena Woods; four brothers, Johnny Johnson Sr., Sidney Patrick Jr., Belvin Johnson and Herbert Johnson; and two sisters, Betty Stevenson and Pearline Johnson.
She was a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church.
Kennedy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
