Bernard L. Jackson Sr., 82, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Thursday March 13.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen J. Givens of Nori, Mi., Anita L. Jackson of Metairie, La., Beverly J. Thibodaux, Lawrenceville ,Ga., Gail J. Lewis, Germaine T. Jackson and Donna M. Jackson of Thibodaux; sons, Bernard L. Jackson Jr. of North Hills, Ca., and Kenneth M. Jackson of North Highlands, Ca.; brothers, Sylvester Jackson of Thibodaux and Clarence Jackson of New Orleans, La.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline S. Jackson; parents, Courtland and Mary P. Jackson; sisters, Evelyn Jules, Wiletta Thibodeaux, Eunice Anderson, Myrtle Frye and Kathleen Jackson; and brothers, Courtland Jackson and Louis Jackson Sr.
He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Catholic Church. He was a United States Army World War II Veteran and a former member of the Kingsmen Club. His hobbies included fishing, cooking and gardening.

He was buried at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.
Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
