Bernice Bourgeois Babin, 94, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Sunday, June 7, at 3 a.m.

She is survived by her sons, Presley Babin and wife Linda, and Clyde Babin; daughters, Joyce Osbourn and husband James, Evelyn Babin, and Loretta Smith and husband Carl; brothers, Milton Bourgeois and Alvin Bourgeois; sister, Doris Theriot; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Babin; parents Joseph Buddy and Cordelia Cheramie Bourgeois; brothers, Oral Bourgeois, Oakland Bourgeois and Edward Bourgeois; and sister, Catherine Bourgeois.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church, a Eucharistic minister at St. Mary and a member of the church prayer group.

The funeral was Tuesday, June 9, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Raceland with burial at the church cemetery.
