Bertha “Mausey” Boudreaux, 86, a native of Bayou Crab, La., and resident of Labadieville, La., died at 8:50 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011.

Mrs. Boudreaux became a “lunch lady” at Labadieville Primary School to support her family. She loved to dance, make yo-yo quilts and spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was thrifty to a fault and saved everything because “you can never tell when you might need it.”

She is survived by her sons, Dave (Connie), Charles (Linda) and Lester (Darlene) Boudreaux; brother, Elvin (Irene) Gros; sister, Elda Boudreaux; former second husband and friend, Willie Landry; seven grandchildren, Louis Boudreaux, Timi Reece, Leah Crochet, Toby Boudreaux, Lester Boudreaux Jr., Alison Besson and Kathy Adams; three step-grandchildren, Buffy Solar, and Mark and Brodie Thibaut; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Medus Boudreaux; parents, Cyprien and Annie Barras Gros; four brothers, Robert, Nolan, Whitney and Irving Gros; and three sisters, Lucia and Lucy Gros and Lucille Godeau.

She is buried at St. Philomena Church Cemetery in Labadieville.
