Bessie Elizabeth Delaune Angeron, 91, a native of Morgan City, La., and resident of Patterson, La., died at Teche Regional Medical Center on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009.


She is survived by her sons, Ivy (Margie), David (Jean), Maxim (Judy) and Herschell (Helen) Angeron; daughters, Gladys Bailey, Gaydell Childress and Polly Angeron; sister, Belle Gibson; 28 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. “Capt. Pony” Angeron; parents, Eitienne and Cleonise Delaune; daughter, Martha Saujon; brothers, Dewey, Claude and Guy Delaune; sister, Alice Webb; and sons-in-law, Paul Foret Sr., C.S. “Jack” Bailey, Gerald Saujon and Willie Childress.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 4, from 6 to 10 p.m., at Twin City Funeral Home, and Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 to 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m.

She will be buried at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Patterson.
