Bessie Hebert Crochet, 82, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2008.


She is survived by her son, Lonnie Crochet and wife Patsy of Houma; two daughters, Susan Crochet of Houma and Lola Crochet DeRoche and husband Byron of Houma; three brothers, Charley Hebert, Huey Hebert and Cleo Hebert; two sisters, Marie Hebert Dupre and Cecile Hebert Nelton; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Dovic and Cecile Carlos Hebert; her husband, Harold Joseph Crochet; nine brothers, Berwick Hebert, Jimmie Hebert, Morris Hebert, LuDovic Hebert, Walter Hebert, LeRoy Hebert, Freddie Hebert, Edward Hebert and Albert Hebert; and one sister, Angeline Hebert LeBouef.

She was a homemaker and a Jehovah’s Witness.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, at Chauvin Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
