Bessie St. Pierre Rousse, 90, a native and resident of Galliano, La., died Saturday, September 15, 2007, at 5:30 a.m.


She is survived by her two sons, Lanny Rousse and his wife Wynn and Gerald Rousse and his wife Donna; two daughters, Annette Guidry and her husband William and Ann Doucet and her husband Keith; one brother, AJ St. Pierre; four sisters, Earline Doucet, Annabelle Esponge, Neva Hill, and Melva Griffin; 14 grandchildren, Nicky Guidry and his wife Angela, Dwayne Guidry, Eric Paul Guidry, Cathy Charpentier and her husband Wayne, Inger Weber and her husband Lance, Torey Falgout, Lonnie Rousse and his wife Richelle, Gerald John, Michael Rousse, Alan Rousse and his wife Rachel, Everet Doucet, Parish Doucet and his wife Kelly, Tate Doucet and his wife Nicole, and Nicole Carriere and her husband Jean; 21 great-grandchildren, Aaron Guidry, Anya Guidry, Carely Charpentier, Lanie Charpentier, Angelle Weber, Calob Falgout, Marie Falgout, Devon Falgout, Michael Falgout, Christopher Rousse, Courtney Rousse, Sagan Rousse, Beth Doucet, Macy Doucet, Demi Doucet, Mia Doucet, Brady Doucet, Brooke Doucet, and Brennan Carriere, Emmie Carriere; two step-grandchildren, Alex Duke and Karien Laurent; one great-great grandchild, Conner Renee Felaries.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleophas Rousse; her parents, Andre and Euphemia Fillinich St. Pierre; two brothers, Nolan “Brod” and Tony St. Pierre; three sisters, Loriane Rousse, Anna Gravois, and Verna Dufrene.

Bessie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener.

She is buried in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is in charge of the arrangements.
