Odomes’ lifelong friend to testify against him

August 29, 2011Betty Ann Chaisson Pitre, 73, a native of Grand Caillou, La., and resident of Bayou Blue, La., died at 2:10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011.
Mrs. Pitre’s passion was fishing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was Catholic.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Pitre Jr.; son, Michael Sr. (Joanella) Pitre; daughters, Sandra Pitre, Brenda Lirette and Darlene (Andrew) Spot; brothers, Glynn Sr. and Lindburg Chaisson; sisters, Muriel and Shirley Rodrigue; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Junius and Viola Chaisson; sons, Frank and Junius Pitre; daughter, Gertie Dupre; brother, Roger Chaisson; and sisters, Thelma Gisclair, Rita Landry and Barbara LeBoeuf.
Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29 at Samart Funeral Home of Houma with services to follow. Burial will be at Rogers Cemetery. (Samart)
