Betty Bergeron, 81, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, May 13, 2013.


Mrs. Bergeron was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister, catechism teacher and confirmation teacher for 15 years. She was a librarian and homemaker and was one of the first students at Nicholls State University.


She is survived by her husband, Leo Bergeron; sons, Charlie (Lynn) and Randy (Kim) Bergeron; brother, Johnny Buquet; sisters, Audrey Reves and Ethel Fenwick; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lucretia Buquet; brother, Fred Buquet Jr.; and sister, Elsie Anderson.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, at Annunziata Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery. (Chauvin)
