Funding cuts felt in Lafourche’s middle schools

Betty Taylor Billiot, 57, a native of El Paso, Tx., and resident of Golden Meadow, La., died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2007.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off, La. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow, with burial in Dardar Cemetery.


She is survived by her husband, Ervin Billiot Sr.; three sons, Ervin Jr., John Paul and James Alexander Billiot; six daughters, Ethel Boudreaux, Donna Shambach, Linda “Darlene” Billiot, Cynthia Billiot, Connie Delancey and Cadrel Billiot; one brother, John Edward Taylor; three sisters, Elizabeth Taylor, Mary Ann Taylor and Brenda Taylor; 32 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Mae Stewart; one son, Ervin Billiot; two grandsons, Chance Delancey and Ervin Billiot III; and one sister, Debra Taylor.

She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
