Bridget Marie Clement, 98, a native and resident of Chackbay, La., died Sunday, August 5, 2007, at 12:30 p.m.


She is survived by her two sons, Leroy and Roy Clement; three daughters, Dorothy Laque, Betty Chiasson, and Laura Theriot; four sisters, Dolia Morvant, Octavia Clement, Leona LeBlanc, and Adele Breaux; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Clement; her parents, Orville and Cecelia Trosclair; one son, Lester Clement; one daughter Anna Mae Chauvin; one brother, Norris Trosclair; and one sister, Odessa Morvant.

Bridget was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Our Lady Prompt Succor Catholic Church. She loved fishing, trapping, crawfishing, working in her flower garden, playing bingo, and going to the casino with friends.

Visitation is Thursday, August 9, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Our Lady Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Chackbay. She will be buried in the church cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
