Callan J. Alfred, 84, a native and resident of Morgan City, La., died Saturday, March 24, 2012.
Mr. Alfred was a charter member of Holy Cross Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister and usher. He was a U.S. Marine Corp and Army National Guard veteran. He loved to travel but most of all he loved spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Amy Alfred; children, Callan Jr., Kenneth (Judy) and Mark Alfred and Elizabeth (Jud) Broussard; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; brother, Calvin (Laura) Alfred; and sisters, Ida (R.J.) Percle, Margaret (Jim) Holt, Judy Aucoin and Linda (Truman) Bitely.
He was preceded in death by his parents William Sr. and Ida Alfred; and brothers, Edward, William Jr., Bernie and Norris Alfred.
Interment was at Morgan City Mausoleum. (Twin City)
