Camelia Callais Richoux, 87, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Cut Off, La., died Wednesday, Aug. 12.


She is survived by three daughters, Carole Richoux and companion Susan Arceneaux of Bayou Blue, La., Sharon Helms and husband James of Camden, Ark., and Christine Brandon and husband John of Cut Off.; two sisters, Beatrice Guidroz and Rosemary Richard; one sister-in-law, Patty Callais; six grandchildren, Mark Bouzigard, Stacy Bouzigard Burson and husband Davin, Matt Bouzigard and wife Marie, Hoyt Cheramie and wife Lesley, Steve Cheramie Jr. and Nikki Reding and husband Steven; 14 great-grandchildren, Kasey McClain and husband Matt, Camille Wallace, Cohen and Sophia Bouzigard, Emily, Eli, Steve III, Tony, Davey Paul and Janie Cheramie, Tiffani, Katelyn, Paul and Jack Reding; and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave P. Richoux; parents, Lorris Callais Sr. and Simonette Curole Callais; and one brother, Lorris “June” Callais Jr.

She is greatly loved and sadly missed. Earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday, Aug. 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. Mass of Christian Burial will follow with burial at the church cemetery.

Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
