Camille Berniard Bordis Simoneaux, 89, a resident of Plattenville, La., died Monday, March 17, at 5:10 a.m.
She is survived by her son, Chuck and wife, Becky Bordis, of Labadieville, La.; daughters, Tina and husband, Larry Howell, of Napoleonville, La., Mel and husband, Greg Talbot and Timmy Ordoyne, all of Plattenville; grandchildren, Chuckie, Lance and Dusty Bordis, Jonathan Howell, Cami H. Mabile, Tessie O. Giroir, Tia T. Barbera and Jacob Talbot; great-grandchildren, Blake, Sydney, Lila, Cooper, Weston and Kirsten Bordis, Ethan Jon Howell, William Carothers, Ella and Alex Mabile, Colby Aucoin and Peyton and Lauren Barbera; sisters, Margie and Billie Doran of Donaldsonville, La., and Dorothy Bergeron of Thibodaux, La.; and her special sister-in-law, Billie Berniard of Prairieville, La.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Lucy Leonard Berniard; her first husband, Gaston C. Bordis Jr.; her second husband, Hayward Simoneaux; grandson, Lauren G. Talbot; sister, Lucille Caballero; and brothers, Lester, Herbert and Roy Berniard.
She graduated from Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in New Orleans, La., in 1939. She served as an Army nurse during World War II and practiced nursing until her retirement in 1979. She enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, playing cards, gardening and family gatherings with her loved ones.
She was buried at Assumption Catholic Church Cemetery in Plattenville.
