Carol Ann “Cookie” Berthelot, 57, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Sunday, September 2, 2007, at 9:50 p.m.


She is survived by one brother, Lester Berthelot Jr. and his wife Sonjia; one sister, Patricia Percle and her husband Dan; four nieces, Rebecca “Becky” Naquin and her husband Nolan; their four children, Gretchen Percle, Meredith Clifton and her husband Mark; their child, Abbey Richard and her husband David; their two children; and two nephews, Larry “Ricky” Boudreaux, Jr. and Brian Percle and his wife Jamie; and their two children.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Jean “Betty” Smith Berthelot; and one sister, Sheila Boudreaux.

Carol was a devout Baptist and an active member of University Baptist Church. She was a very special person. Although born deaf, she was very independent. She was devoted to both God and her church. She was there almost every day helping out with whatever needed to be done. She was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation is Monday, September 10, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at University Baptist Church in Thibodaux. She will be buried in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
