Carrol “Bud” Joseph Webre, 87, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Thursday, May 21.


He is survived by his loving wife of more than 53 years, Ethel Grace Ruiz Webre; his loving grandniece and goddaughter, Michelle Z. Parro and husband, Randy, and their daughter, Caroline S. Hidalgo; his grandnephew and caregiver, Darren J. Theriot and wife, Mary Beth R. Theriot and their children, Stacey, Jude, and Emily; two brothers, Gerald P. Webre, Rodney A. Webre and wife, Georgette R. Webre; one sister-in-law, Bobbie H. Webre; his godson, William “Bill” Wolf; his goddaughter, Jennie Naquin; and four generations of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, neighbors, cousins, and former co-workers.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile Eugene and Coralie Henrietta Morvant Webre; two sisters, Nora W. Latour and husband, Edward O. Latour, and Bessie Theriot and husband, Henry S. Theriot Sr.; five brothers, Leonard R. and wife, Leona R. Webre, Junius L. and wife, Edwina T. Webre, Emile R. and wife, Genevieve B. Webre, Eugene D. Webre, and Allen E. Webre; one niece, Suzanne L. Zeringue Miller; his godson and nephew, Rodney “Bim” Webre; and his sister-in-law, Toyoko U. Webre

He has gone home to God, but will be remembered as a caring and sharing son, husband, uncle, brother, friend, and neighbor. Throughout his lifetime, he served as a caregiver to his father, siblings, mother and father-in-law, and his brothers-in-law. He enjoyed singing, music, crossword puzzles, and watching Atlanta Braves baseball games. He was a retired welder from Avondale Shipyards and a parishioner of St. Genevieve Catholic Church.

Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, May 25, at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux, La. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
