Catherine “Kitty” Lagarde Simon, 81, a resident of New Iberia, La., died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012.
Mrs. Simon was a long time resident of Thibodaux, La., where she raised her family. She was an active parishioner of St. Genevieve and a substitute teacher and the director of the St. Genevieve Summer Day Camp. She was an athlete to the end. She fought the good fight for Christ.
She is survived by her brother, James (Phylles) Lagarde; daughters, Mary (Daniel Sr.) Spiller, Christine (Don) Eckert, Martha Cole, Michelle (Dr. Chuck) Petit, Lisa (Dr. Byron) Dickerson and Edith (James) Ray; 23 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ewell Simon; parents, Angelic and Lucien Lagarde; and siblings, Alban, Gabriel and Lucien Lagarde, Noimee Naquin and Margaret Weimer.
Interment was at St. Charles Borromeo Church Cemetery.(Landry’s)
