Catherine Pellegrin, 80, a native of and resident of Houma, La., died at 7:25 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2011.

Mrs. Pellegrin was a pageant director for the tri-parish area. She loved to spend time at her home in Grand Isle, La., feeding the birds on the beach while relaxing on her deck. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.


She is survived by her sons, Mark (Judith) and Howard Jr. (June) Pellegrin; daughters, Donna (Ronald) Price and Gina Holder; brothers, Hugh, David and Ricky Valure; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Pellegrin Sr.; parents, Joseph and Ruth Valure; brother, Anthony Valure; and sisters, Glayds Burton and Dorothy Strange.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
