July 10, 2014Catherine Verdin Vene, 53, a native of Grand Caillou, Louisiana, and a resident of Houma, Louisiana, died June 28, 2014.
Mrs. Vene is survived by her son, Joey David (Paula) Vene; sisters, Eul Marie (Michael) Gilmer, Edna (Kenneth) Tassin; brothers, Joseph “Papus” Smith and Anthony “Country” (Pam); son, Joey David (Paula) Vene; sisters, Eul Marie (Michael) Gilmer and Edna (Kenneth) Tassin; brothers, Joseph “Papus” Smith and Anthony “Country” (Pam), John Ernest (Donna), Calvin “Meme,” Richard and Eton “Taun” (Nina) Verdin; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Anthony “Goin” and Eula Mae Verret Verdin; brother, Irvin Verdin; grandparents, Edmond Jack and Edna V. Verret and Albert Sr. and Alice Verdin; niece, Crystal Smith; nephew, Lucus Verdin; and sisters-in-law, Enette B. Smith and Mollie V. Verdin.
The family offered thanks to Haydel Hospice for its kind, gentle care.
Funeral services were held at Coteau Baptist Church in Houma.
