Cathy Marie Harvey Dempsey

Cathy Marie Harvey Dempsey, 46, a resident of Geismar and Donaldsonville, La., died Sunday, December 21 at Hospice of Baton Rouge, La.

She is survived by her husband, Owen Dempsey Sr.; three sons, Corey Harvey and wife Tonya of Baton Rouge, Leven Harvey and wife Lakisha of Atmore, Al., and Owen Dempsey Jr. of Geismar; three daughters, Dawn Harvey of New Orleans, La., Wennifer Young and Jennifer Young of Plaquemine, La.; four stepdaughters, Latonya Coleman, Paula Dempsey, Majorie Dempsey and Stacey Dempsey of Pontiac, Mi.; six sisters, Dianne McKinney and husband the Rev. Michael McKinney Sr., Katrena Keyes and husband Ray of Donaldsonville, Beverly Green of Donaldsonville, Patricia and Elice Parker of San Diego, Ca., Betty Murray and husband Wayne of Belle Rose, La., and Gail Manuel and husband Terrence of St. James, La.; five brothers, Michael Harvey and wife Florence of St. James, Morris Harvey and wife Jacqueline of Baton Rouge, Rodney Harvey, Spencer Harvey and wife Dionne of Donaldsonville, and Dr. Kevin Barnes and wife Brenda of Oakland, Ca., two brothers-in-law, Shed Dempsey of Pontiac, Mi., and Rudolph Dempsey of Gonzales, La.; five sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Jackson and husband Henry of Greensburg, Audrey Mae Tooks of Pontiac, Mi., Linda Cushenberry and husband Leroy and Lois Cushenberry of Geismar and Hanna Cushenberry and husband Larry of Dallas, Tx.; 16 grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Mae Harvey; maternal grandparents, James and Castoria Harvey; one brother, Charles Harvey; and one sister Gail Harvey Allen.

She was buried at Protestant Cemetery in Donaldsonville.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
