Lafourche Parish committee formed to fix jail woes

Cecile D. St. Amant, 84, a native of Pointe-aux-Chenes, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, April 6.
She is survived by her sons, Alex St. Amant and wife, Barbara, of Bourg, La., Robert St. Amant and wife, Rosemary, of Kentucky, Allen St. Amant and wife, Eartha, of Gray, La. and Clarence St. Amant and wife, Lori, of Houma; daughter, Desiree St. Amant of Houma; brother, Lera Deroche of Bayou Blue, La.; grandchildren, Angel S. Garner, Aimee S. Detiveaux, Annette S. Martin, Robert St. Amant Jr., Jonathan St. Amant, Dawn K. Baker, Kayla K. Nora and Kimberly St. Amant; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex St. Amant; her parents, Jean Gustave Deroche and Marie Adelaide LeBoeuf Deroche; brother, Rufus Deroche; and sisters, Alice LeBlanc and Eula Mae Rodrigue.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
She was buried at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Children’s Hospital.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
