Cecile Shirley Lasseigne Babin, 79, a native of Labadieville, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, March 27.


She is survived by her son, Morris and wife Phyllis Babin; daughters, Sue and husband Autrey Ordoyne, Linda and husband Dave Billiot, Patricia and husband Jesse Triche and Donna and husband Peter Fonseca; sister, Louise Stevens; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Joseph Babin; parents, Bruno and Julia Gros Lasseigne; brothers, George and Jimmy Lasseigne; and sisters, Jeanne Prejean, Josephine Hebert and Leah Cousins.

She was a parishioner of St. Gregory Church and belonged to the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, March 31, at Falgout Funeral Home’s Chapel and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, at St. Gregory Church with the funeral to follow. She will be buried at St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
