Charles “Charlie” Allen Badeaux, 79, a native of Gibson, La. and resident of Houma, La. died Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at 1:00 p.m.


He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Guedry Badeaux; four daughters, Olga B. Thibodeaux and her husband Glenn, Susie B. Chitty and her husband Gary, June Badeaux, and Sherrie B. Billiot and her husband Bo; one sister, Josephine Dickson; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph Badeaux, Sr. and Josephine Bourgeois Badeaux; three brothers, Rudolph Badeaux, Jr., Enos Badeaux, and Alphonse Badeaux; and four sisters, Judith Whitney, Carlene Palmer, Rita Crochet, and Joyce Butler.

Charles was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. He was loving husband to his wife Carolyn for 59 years. He was the retired owner of Badeaux Finance Company. He was past member and president of Terrebonne Parish School Board from 1957-1970 and voted board president in his last term and was also instrumental in organizing TARC. He was vice president in charge of loans at Bank of Terrebonne and was a member of the Krewe of Christopher. He coached Babe Ruth Little League Baseball for many years. He was an avid fisherman and loved to cook Cajun dishes. He was a trumpet player for LSU marching band.

He is buried in Magnolia Cemetery.
