Charles Burrell Sr., 73, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Gray, La., died Tuesday, July 21.
He is survived by two sons, Charles Burrell Jr. and wife Tennille of Thibodaux, and Christopher Burrell and wife Kelly of Houma, La.; five daughters, Ethel Dick and husband Louis, Beverly Burrell, Dianne Burrell, Kathy Coleman and husband Frederick, and Rhonda Declouet and husband Daniel; 22 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Dell Brown Burrell; parents, Junius and Ella Burrell; two brothers, Andrew Burrell Sr. and Junius Burrell Jr.; and grandparents, Dan and Mariah Burrell, and Arthur and Charlotte Kirkman.
He was Baptist and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was retired from the Terrebonne Parish School Board.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Gray with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Gertrude Geddes Willis-Terrebonne Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
