Charles F. “Red” Leonard Sr., 80, a native of Monroe, La., former resident of Morgan City, La., and resident of Ricohoc, La., died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013.


Mr. Leonard was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a motorcycle enthusiast who loved and raised animals, enjoyed wrestling and taking his family camping. He was a member of the Morgan City Mudslingers, the Civitans and was an organizer of the Civinettes. He founded Gem Wire and Slings which he sold when he retired in 1977.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Olivia Leonard; children, Linda LeJeune, Trudy (Tommy Sr.) Dyson, Charles Jr. (Kristy) Leonard and Sharon Vaughn; sisters, Norma Nobles and Laura Rome; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death his parents, Harvey and Lucille Leonard; brother, Frank Leonard; sisters, Gloria Dalio and Charlotte Presswood; and one great-grandchild.
