Charles Henry Davidson, 90, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, LA died Thursday, July 7, 2011.


Mr. Davidson was a retired business man, president of the A.F. Davidson Corp. and Tunnel Center, Inc. He served as a 1st Lt. Pilot during World War II and is a veteran of the Pacific Theater. He was a past member of the Terrebonne Parish School Board, the City of Houma City Council, past mayor of Houma and past member of the Terrebonne Parish Council.

He was a current member of the Terrebonne Parish Library Board of Directors, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Benevolent Order of Elks and a dedicated volunteer to the Regional Military Museum Foundation.


He was devoted to his family, his community and his God.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Thelma Davidson; daughter, Gwen (Billy) Talbot; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and numerous special nieces, nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Meada Davidson.; and brother, Percival Davidson Jr.

Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, July 11, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. (Chauvin)
