Christine Linson Jewell, 87, native of Magee, Ms., and a resident of Houma, La., died peacefully in her sleep Friday, March 27.
She is survived by her second husband, Jesse Jewell of Maude, Tx.; children, Stanley Linson and wife Evelyn, Howard Linson and wife Delma, Miriam Warner and husband Keith, Beth LeBlanc and husband Ray, Blanche Champagne, and Helen Lorene O’Brian; special friend, Rita Chaisson; extremely missed by closest granddaughters, Miranda Gee and Domini Bennett; and closest great-grandkids, Gaige and Tye Corbitt; 16 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora Myric Floyd and James Ellis Floyd; her first husband, William Thomas Linson; siblings, Clara Williams, Myrtle Shows, Hassel Floyd, Burra Floyd, Sam Floyd and Charles Floyd; children, Ellis Linson and Elda Linson; and grandson, Larry Lucas Jr.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma. A religious service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday the funeral home with burial at Magnolia Cemetery.
