Sheriff’s ranges give public a new target

Christopher “Slim” Jair Pitre, 30, a native of Houma, La., resident of Gibson, La., and, most recently, of Orange, Texas, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010.

He enjoyed cooking, clowning around and holding Bible studies with the Orange West Congregation and Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. A 1997 graduate of H.L. Bourgeois, Mr. Pitre moved to Orange after graduation. He worked as a car salesman and machine operator at Akrotex Extrusion.


He is survived by his mother, Rose Celestine Pitre of Gibson; father, Raleigh James Pitre of Seattle, Wash.; daughter, Chrislyn Jahria Pitre of Orange; sisters, Meka (Charles) Johnson of Houma and Keyon (Kenric) Taylor of Baton Rouge; nieces, Meah Charnaé Johnson, Myla Chenaé Johnson and Klarc Lo’Ryn Taylor; his second family, Michael and Judy Gobert of Orange, Matthew Sr. (Shaya), Miguel Sr. and Mario (Natrisha) Gobert Sr., Malai (Allen Ray) Sezer; all of their grandchildren; and a host of relatives.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary Prevost Celestin; paternal grandparents, Henry and Edna Pitre; sister, Treva Monet’ Pitre; five uncles; and three aunts.

Sparrow Funeral Home of Orange, Texas, and Chauvin Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
