Claire Babin Lirette, 78, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 5:40 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010.
She is survived by three daughters, Sherril A. Bonvillain and husband, Wayne Sr. of Bayou Blue, La., Trudy Castagna of Lafayette, La., and Colette Boudreaux and husband, Kurt Sr. of Houma; two daughters-in-law, Diane Boudreaux Lirette, of Houma, and Betty Palmer and fiance, Roger Comer of Grand Caillou; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; two step-great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris Lirette; one son, Craig Lirette; her parents, Harry Babin and Clara Martin Babin Bergeron; one brother, Sidney Babin; her grandparents, Alfred Martin and Rebecca LeCompte Martin; one great-grandson, Trevis Lirette Jr.; and one son-in-law, Dennis Castagna.
Burial was at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
