Clarence “T-Clair” J. Cheramie, 88, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and resident of Cut Off, La., died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014.

Mr. Cheramie enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, cutting everyone’s grass, tending to his garden and teaching his grandchildren everything. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, and a member of the American Legion, VFW, Sacred Heart Holy Name Society and Altar Society. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rowena Cheramie; children, Janet (Wilson) Picou and Gerry and Rod (Kerry) Cheramie; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Evelia Cheramie; son Gary Cheramie; brothers, Ulysses and John Cheramie; and one grandchild. (Falgout)
