Clyde Joseph Allemand, 59, a native of Lockport, La. and a resident of Labadieville, La. died Saturday, February 9, 2008, at 8:45 a.m.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Bergeron Allemand; sons, James Lubin Allemand and Lee Joseph Allemand; brothers, Carroll, Albert, Lloyd, Bruce, Ralph and Eric Allemand; sister, Gloria A. Denshaw; and grandchild, Brynlee Boudreaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lubin and Shirley Allemand; and sister, Mary Allemand.

Everyone who knew Clyde loved his unique sense of humor. He was a lover of nature and all things outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and walking outdoors without shoes and television. His granddaughter was the apple of his eye and often found by his side picking vegetables and planting trees. In his younger college days, he was an expert pool player. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was employed by J. Ray McDermott for 26 years.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
