December 23, 2009Colie Sanders Jr., 85, a native of Rosedale and resident of Napoleonville, died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009.
Mr. Sanders was a retired laborer and an usher at St. Mark Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Sanders; daughters, Brenda Talbert and Fay Matunda; sons, Donald and Michael Sanders; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Walter Wrines; sister-in-law, Corrine Sanders; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Colie Sr. and Ophelia Lee Sanders; son, Colie James; daughters, Linda Ruth, Linda Marie and Cynthia Sanders; brothers, Joseph, Johnny and Willie Sanders; sisters, Mahalia Shallowhorne, Lillie Thyme, Mattie Cargo, Elizabeth Jones and Mandy Chevis; and son-in-law, Louis Talbert.
He is buried at St. Mark Baptist Church Cemetery in Labadieville.
